The talented team at Toberona Stables is the backbone of our success. This team includes all the staff at Toberona who ride out and look after the horses, the jockeys, vets and all the support team. Key to this success is the partnership between Paul Nolan and James Nolan.
We would also like to thank our corporate sponsors, SoftCo, who have supported the yard for nearly 15 years helping us grow where today we have nearly 100 horses in training.
Paul Nolan commenced training in 1996, having worked with Jim Bolger he decided to embrace a training career. Since then he has never looked back training nearly 500 winners between all codes to date, including winners at all the major festivals such as Cheltenham, Aintree, Punchestown, Galway, Leopardstown and Fairyhouse.
James Nolan joined Toberona in 1998 after returning from the UK where he rode as a conditional jockey for Venetia Williams. James focuses on the smooth operation of the yard and has a strong rapport with the racehorse owners. James is closely involved in the purchase and overall racing strategy for each horse in the yard.
Sean O’Keeffe is one of the most exciting new talents in the world of Horse Racing. He began his career in the amateur ranks and as an 18-year-old, rode his first winner, Cordovan Brown at Punchestown in October 2017 on only his second ride. His career really took off when he turned professional in August of the following year and since then he has developed into one of the most sought after jockeys.
Mel Nolan is the backbone of the operation at Toberona Stables. She is in charge of all administration including managing all entries and declarations for the yard.
Mel conscientiously supports the yards owners, communicating regularly providing updates and account information.
